AP Stainless Steel Series:Because of varying applications, Grundfos have developed 2 versions of the popular AP series. For general drainage applications, the new AP35B and AP50B feature composite base plate and can be installed as a free-standing unit or connected to a unique auto coupling system. The auto coupling system allows the pump to be suspended in the liquid and easily removed for service without draining the tank or entering the pump pit. They can be operated for extended periods provided the pump and motor unit are fully submerged but due to the design of the pump, there will always be some liquid remaining in the sump. |

| For applications where the level of liquid needs to be drawn down as low as possible, the original AP35 and 50 are the perfect choice as they have an external housing that functions as a water jacket using the pumped liquid to cool the motor. The liquid level can be drawn down to the top of the inlet strainer and because of the top outlet design, this version is the ideal choice when a flexible hose is used as the discharge pipe. |  |
